Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a neurological disability that affects movement, muscle tone, and coordination. It’s caused by abnormal brain development or damage to the developing brain—often before, during, or shortly after birth. CP is the most common motor disability in childhood, and its symptoms can range from mild to severe, affecting each person differently.
Raising awareness for Cerebral Palsy is vital for promoting inclusion, improving access to essential resources, and encouraging early detection and intervention. It helps break down misconceptions, supports families and caregivers, and drives research and innovation that can improve quality of life. With greater understanding comes stronger communities and better outcomes for those living with CP. Join us in helping to make a difference!
Michael Anwar is a pro para track athlete, outdoor enthusiast, and passionate advocate for Cerebral Palsy awareness. Born with Cerebral Palsy, Michael has never let challenges define him. Instead, he’s embraced life on his own terms—training for the LA28 Paralympic Games in track and field, snowboarding and surfing whenever he can, and riding his trike on trails throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Michael founded Tour De Palsy as a way to merge his love for cycling with his mission to inspire others and raise awareness for Cerebral Palsy. What started as a personal challenge has grown into the only annual bike ride in the PNW that gets longer each year, pushing limits and encouraging riders to do the same. For Michael, every mile is a reminder of resilience, community, and the power of turning awareness into action.
